TESTIMONIALS

Global Bronze’s Glass-fronted Niches are an integral part of the design of our mausoleum. We liked the cross so much that we decided to continue using it as we began adding new Glass-fronted Niche units for the mausoleum expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a bronze or marble relief?

A relief sits between a flat image and a freestanding sculpture. The figures are carved so they rise from a flat panel and project outward, while the piece mounts flat against the wall, a tradition long known as bas-relief. Global Bronze creates devotional and memorial reliefs, in bronze and stone looks, for cemeteries, mausoleums, churches, and memorial gardens.

Can I choose an existing relief or commission a custom one?

Both. Global Bronze holds an extensive library of relief molds, ready to cast for you, and we design fully custom work when a particular scene or figure calls for it. We adapt to your space and your wishes, not the other way around. Tell us what you are envisioning and we will take it from there.

What is FiberBronze™, and why does it matter most for a relief?

FiberBronze™ is our fiberglass composite finished to carry the look of traditional bronze, and a wall relief is where it matters most. Because a relief hangs on a wall, weight is the deciding factor, and FiberBronze™ weighs a fraction of cast bronze while typically costing about half to two-thirds the price of a comparable cast piece. That lightness means most walls can be retrofitted to carry it, which solves the single biggest challenge of wall-mounted art. FiberBronze™ is also exceptionally durable and proven in outdoor settings.

What is FiberMarble™?

FiberMarble™ brings the same advantage to the look of natural stone. A carved stone relief is extremely heavy and difficult to mount, especially on an existing wall. FiberMarble™ carries the appearance of marble in a far lighter, more affordable composite, rated for indoor and outdoor settings, so most walls can be retrofitted to hold a stone-look relief that solid stone could never support.

Do you also offer cast bronze and natural stone reliefs?

Yes. Global Bronze produces reliefs in traditional cast bronze and natural stone as well, and we do not set one material against another. A solid bronze or stone panel is heavy, and many walls were never built for that load, which drives up both the cost and the engineering. Our FiberBronze™ and FiberMarble™ systems solve that, delivering the same look at a weight most walls can carry. Speak with our team and we will help you weigh the options for your wall and your budget.

Can a relief be mounted on an existing wall?

In most cases, yes, and this is the great advantage of our fiberglass systems. Because FiberBronze™ and FiberMarble™ are so light, most existing walls can be retrofitted to carry a relief, even walls that were never designed for one. A solid bronze or stone panel is far heavier and many walls cannot take it without major structural work. Tell us about your wall and we will tell you what is possible.

Can reliefs be installed indoors and outdoors?

Yes. FiberBronze™ and FiberMarble™ are rated for indoor and outdoor settings and stand up to outdoor exposure, which suits a relief equally to an interior chapel wall or an exposed exterior facade. Because the materials are so light, most walls can be prepared to carry the piece wherever you want it.

What finishes are available for a relief?

FiberBronze™ and FiberMarble™ carry the finished look of bronze or stone. Traditional cast bronze can be finished with a patina and other treatments. We help you select the finish that best suits the piece and its setting.

How long does a relief take?

When we already hold the mold, a relief is typically ready in about three months. A fully custom relief, sculpted from the beginning, takes five months or more depending on the scope of the work. Speak with our team for a timeline on your specific piece.
